Home Sweet Home

Fortunately my Good Neighbor, Larry, wrote my address in the subject line of the email he sent. Otherwise I might have never guessed this was the new and greatly improved abode. There's no place like Home but Saturday is Danielle's wedding and I won't be home until several weeks after that. Always tickled to pull into the driveway but especially this summer with the new digs and all!

Lamentations

If only we would do the few things requested by the Giver of Life. It seems He asks so little; only what will bless and sustain His children.

In California many are celebrating the judicial permission to perform same-sex marriages. Is it too much to ask that the one thing God requires in marriage - male and female created He them - would be honored and obeyed?

Like a recalcitrant child, we stick our finger in the eye of the Great Lover. Why? I don't understand. He asks so little: "Just please won't you love Me?" is the heart's cry of the Father. We don't. We must have our way. From the beginning of man's tenure under the sun, he has insisted on his own way.

Will we ever weary of the mayhem and return Home where all is well with our souls? Will we ever love the Father enough to obey His simple commands?

Shall we pray

Dear Friends and Family ~ Realizing that the Rule of the Kingdom is to Ask, would you please join me in prayer both for my travels to California as well as Gabriel, Elissa and Morgan's drive and Joy and Nathaniel's safe flight to Danielle's June 28th wedding.

Here is my request regarding Danielle and Aaron's wedding celebration:

Father God ~ May my Dear Child - Danielle Beth - who has surely done the lion's share of the preparation, enjoy every mega-moment of her wedding ceremony and celebration with her Beloved Aaron. May their Joy know no bounds. I ask you, Father, for glorious weather. May all preparations and details come together as the ingredients of a cake are mixed to create something delicious. The ingredients are nearly ready and as June 28th approaches may we savor the flavor of the days preceeding the wedding when folks gather and throughout the ceremony and celebration. Above all, Dear Lord, may all present notice Your Divine Presence. Please Jesus, be among us. To the glory and honor of Your Father and the childlike delight of we Your children.

What I'm learning

I was running this past my brain on my bike ride today: My thoughts of God are too small; infinitesimally too minute.

I am learning that our thoughts about God and His Son either enhance or limit our lives depending on their accuracy. The truth is for most of us, our God is way too small. In our understanding.

I'm learning that in His gentle generosity, we are thoroughly safe under His watchcare. "The earth and the fullness thereof are the Lord's." We are under His canopy.

Could it be true that the larger our God, the fuller our lives? I am going to devote my life to finding out.
