30th anniversary celebration

One of the California Delights this summer was staying with Sara and Sam Jackson in Westlake Village where we celebrated their 30th year of wedded bliss. Five of the six bridesmaids were together with Sara's sister, Marilyn, being the only one living abroad: in Heaven. Sure did miss Marilyn and Robert too.

Sara and Sam ~ Your devotion to one another makes my heart sing. Highest regard and love to you both.

(Sara is in the middle, blue jacket. Doubtless she could still slide into her 30 year old wedding dress. But could Sam squeeze into his tux?)

Savoring backwards: Reflections

The prayer for Danielle and Aaron's wedding went like this: "Above all, Dear Lord, may all present notice Your Divine Presence." That prayer posted weeks before the wedding was answered, June 28th.

Reflections: I really think the backdrop for Jesus-turning-water-into-wine Weddings is His Presence among us which is tangibly felt. Aaron and Danielle's wedding percolated like bubbling delight; everyone savored every moment with Joy and Gratitude. It was a foretaste, a silhouette of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb where ALL Loved Ones will gather and savor the Father's Presence. Different by far from the sheenless glitz and glitter of the ordinary. Extraordinary Glory! God is near.

Photo memories wordlessly narrate the story: ENJOY

4) sacred ceremony

the Wedding Party

By the bye, how many girls does it take to get a bride in her wedding attire? A lot apparently. (3rd pic)

No, JoyFul and Danielley are not practicing the breaststroke; Joy is coaching her sister on the art of staying in one's dress. Whoopeeeee

random Friends and Family? No, Intentional

Preparation before and AfterGlow

You gotta love a bride who shovels mulch a week before The Big Day. And drape your body over your women and children, a special thanx to Mark Nadler for trusting me with the BobCat. Scary!

As for Debbie Nadler, God's Gardener, after having half your Gorgeous Garden under your fingernails, we are all amazed at the beauty both of your French nails and English flower garden on the day of the wedding. Thank you for nurturing all the Beauty!

Engagement pics

Rehearsal and dinner

Don't look now, down that table as far as the eye can see, 9 (nine, nueve) of Danny Beth's high school friends flew out to her wedding. Unbelievable! Thank you Darlings!
Craig the ScottishMan too! Love you Laddie!!

Ceremony

"Let's boogie"

"Everyone, we all feel the same thing.
Joy and Nathaniel have been married once."
pregnant pause
"I know a lot about animals.
Let's Boogie!"

Only a fool would follow that blessing from Morgan to Aaron and Danielle. The only thing missing ~ Aaron and Danielle. Hysterical we were!!! I think we had to pick Elissa up off the turf she was laughing so hard.

The last photo of Joy, Celsey and the m.o.b. is just after Jesus turned the ordinary water into Extraordinary Wine. Whew ~ Good Times!

Children at play

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Morgan Jo Klein. The kids went to their favorite Black Hills campsite this weekend. Elissa is behind the camera while Gabe tosses Morgan like a human kite.

I remember Gabe's dad doing the same to him. Second generation flinging this is.

Gratitude on the front door

Oh my word, this was priceless. At the end of the second leg of my return trip from Cali, I stopped to spend the night with Elissa and Morgan. This handmade-by-Morgan frame was on the front door as I knocked. Morgan said, "Yes Care, I made it cuz it reminds me of church so we're safe."

A little child shall lead us...

Viva Las Vegas (home sweet home)

Mark and Debbie (Aaron's parents) and mom (that's her drooling at the Chihuly glass work) came to visit the newlyweds this weekend at our new apartment, which has gradually transformed from a room full of boxes to a comfy home! All we need now is a couch ... pottery barn says ETA is Sept. 15. I guess we'll share the chair for a couple months!
Love to all from Aaron and Danielle!

Drink to me only with thine eyes
And I will pledge with mine.
Or leave a kiss within the cup
And I'll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove's nectar sup,
I would not change for thine.

I sent thee late a rosy wreath,
Not so much hon'ring thee
As giving it a hope that there
It could not withered be;
But thou thereon did'st only breathe,
And sent'st it back to me,
Since when it grows and smells, I swear
Not of itself, but thee.
