more Joy

JoyFul's phone message: "Hey Care, Happy Halloween! You should dress up like a margarita. Tell me your thoughts."

What a goofy kid!!!

And this fun Hallow's Eve note: No need to change to run back into town for more candy. One can look like the weirdest Yahoo ever! Any get-up will do. I wore my biking garb with every clashing color under the rainbow and the folks just thought it was a costume!

karaoke anyone

JoyFul as back-up singer? No. She's the side-kick dancer while her FarGo buds do the heavy lifting in the singing dept. Too funny, it was!

3 Amigos autumn visit

I miss my friend

Come heck or high water ~ Danielle, Cheri and I were determined to jog and ride.

Sorry to insult the sensitivities of the blog natives with this appalling display of Bad Manners, but thankfully Danielle redeems the photo. What a doll!

Skal's redemption

"Why don't we thank the Lord for wine?" asked my left coast friend. Recalling Psalm 104, we decided to lift our glasses each time we savor the fruit of the vine.

"You cause the grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine
and bread to strengthen man’s heart."

Thank you Father

Quote of the week

God is in my life, and He's not going away.

"When you come to the edge of the light you have known and take the first step into the darkness of uncertainty, you have to believe that one of two things will happen. You will find something solid there to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly."
Paul Overton

slice of the Good Life

These are my two favorite pics salvaged from the ship wreck of Cheri's snowball camera.
Who made the pie? Kim0, of course! And was it to die for!!

The beloved Scottish Friends ~ Christy K & 'chele on the couch pretending to gear-up for a movie. We had the usual squabble over the lights. To be or not to be? The Lads and I like them low ~ the better the ambiance for the movie. The Knitting Wilmas prefer bright so they can see their dropped stitches. :) Small wonder that the guys hankered in around the books with the red vino warming their innards challenge me. The girls think I like the boys best. The boys don't knit, for cryin' outloud! And we have so much fun talking God and the latest fan-tangle politics. Good times, I'm tellin' ya! But as Cheri says, "I love the Domestics!" If the homemade sweater fits, wear it. You know who you are, my Beloved Domestics. Keeping me fat, happy, warmed and thankful, you do.

Love them ALL!!!! I am so thankful for my friends. Left coast Cheri who is my joined-at-the-hip re-united lost at birth twin. I love her like none other. In the Friendship Department, the west kissed the midwest and it was a glad Reunion.

For a few glorious days Cheri, Oh Kindred One, relished a quintessential slice of Life in Watertown with my friends served up hot with apple pie ala' commode. Priceless. Won't Heaven be grand!

Looks like a lotta bull to me

Paintin' the town red in FarGo with Cheri, Danielley, Nathaniel and Joy.

The wild purple thing I am trying to climb is a giant funky-colored bison in the middle of downtown. The bison is North Dakota State University's mascot.

We had a blast ~ bison or bust!

God the weather-maker

Question: Which daughter does God listen to? The one who prays for an Indian Summer in October to extend the biking season? ME! Or the daughter who beseeches Him for a mini-snowstorm in early fall? Cheri!

Well apparently, the snow loving daughter has the Father's ear. Sure as Christmas (in October!), here come the white flakes during Cheri's brief visit.

It was so worth it, however, when my Friend burst forth exclaiming like a 5-year-old child on Christmas morning, "Oh Care, you are so lucky!" Every snow fall from this day forth, I will remember how lucky I am to look out my window and gaze into a winter panorama.

Thanx Cheri for reminding me to cork the whining and give praise to the snow maker! (even if it is early October for cryin' in the bucket!!!)

Peej Jr.

Gabe just sent me this pic of his refurbished Jeep wrangler. It was his second vehicle after Peej Sr which is featured below. She was sun yellow when Gabe had 'er. She looks pretty sweet! I'm hoping the beautiful oak center console that Gabe and his dad built is still in tact. That thing was a work of art. Also glad to see the thing is still running after Gabe ran a large branch through the engine while off road-ing in the Black Hills! Have mercy!!!

I went with Gabe and Robert twice on the off-road excursions! First and Last! I was so scared the first and only time, I screeched, "Stop!" After disembarking, I walked back to the car! Are you kiddin' me!!!

Marathon on wheels

My 26 mile trek around town and the lake featured lows and highs:

High ~ Three white tails scampering in front of me at Memorial Park. One stared. I could see the wheels turning: Should I run or is this Bad Girl friendly? Then when my wheels turned, off it scampered.

Low ~ hearing the infamous hum of a snow removal motor. Some eager Boy Scout was checking his two snow removers. "Be prepared" was his motto. My motto: Don't think about it tell you see the first dat-gum flake. Plenty of peddling to do until then.

The whole earth was full of God's glory today!

Next week, my Beloved Friend, Cheri0, will be peddling right beside me. Unless, God forbid, the snow flies! Then we'll have vino and a fire.

Blast from the past

This Bad Boy will ring a bell with Gabers and the Girls. Gabe's first car, she was. We called 'er "Peej Sr." She was the oldest of all the family jeeps.

After Robert purchased Peej from Gabe, his favorite thing was to pick the girls up at school. The ceiling liner was falling around their head and there was a hole in the back seat floor that I always feared one of the kids would fall through, never to be seen again. She was a doozy! But by George, Robert loved this car. He was always so proud to be the only one that could plow through the snow drifts in a SD mid-winter blizzard and make it home from work.

It was painful to see Peej parked after Robert went Home. Just the sight of her made me sad. So I was thrilled when my Good Neighbor, Larry, said that his son needed a hunting vehicle in northern Minnesota. Out of sight was fine with me.

This year Larry's son camo-ed the Beast so she looks better than ever. There will be no sneaking up on the deer in this camouflaged vehicle. Too funny! Robert would be tickled.

The Good Neighbors call Peej Sr "Ol Yeller." Here's what Larry wrote:
Here are a couple pictures of “Ol’ Yeller” aka “Peej Sr.” The Pride of the North Country.
Larry

Priceless

Ain't that the stinkin' truth!
