Nathaniel's masterpiece: Wedding Gazebo Summerview

While Joy was home for the holidays, Nathaniel took the opportunity to splash this acrylic painting across their living room wall. Surprise! Joy cried when she saw it.
Nathaniel is considering painting a Gazebo series: Winterview, Autumn and Spring.

This painting has been hatching in Nathaniel's imagination for two years.
Man as creator ~ a marvel.

The Chihuly coffee table album was a bday gift from DAaron. I love it, of course, and often use it as a morning devotional. The glass creations herald another Realm. Not of this earth.

You are so beautiful to me.
Joe Cocker

political quote of the week

Except the problem is that voting for Obama a year ago was a fashion statement, much like it was once a fad to buy Beanie Babies, pet rocks and Cabbage Patch Kids. But instead of ending up with a ridiculous dust-collector at the bottom of your closet, the Obama fad leaves you with higher taxes, a reduced retirement fund, no job and a one-year wait for an MRI.

Home sweet home

Here are the lovebirds making their way from Vegas to Colorado to Grandma Margie's in Lawrence, Kansas. Tonight they are with high school bud Jill and JT in Kansas City. Last stop is Alexandria, Virginia: Home at last.

The Rockies pic makes me yearn for Colorado. Beautiful state.

Such a wholesome little costume for our Girl. No witches or warlocks for Morgan J. Adorable!

Gabe and Elissa with their favorite Pumpkin. That's pretty much the cutest darn jack-0-lantern I've ever seen. Very creative, Morgan and Gabers.

Joy is a fairy which couldn't be more perfect. And Nathaniel is a sketchy carnival guy with the tickets hanging from his belt and the tattoos surrounding his neck. Scary! I thought she married UP, but not so sure! Favorite weekend quote: Joy ~ "I wore my fairy outfit all day to work, Mom. I was the only one. But I didn't wear my wings." Priceless

Kings X: Remind me when the kiddos outgrow the 'dressing up for Halloween' stage. Six-year-old Morgan Jo ~ of course. Joy and Nathaniel, not so sure.
Love to all including DAaron who are traveling across the country to their new Adventure in Alexandria, Virginia just outside D.C. Maybe Danielle and Aaron were sporting Palin masks as they traveled towards the beltway on Hallow's Eve. We can only hope.

more Joy

JoyFul's phone message: "Hey Care, Happy Halloween! You should dress up like a margarita. Tell me your thoughts."

What a goofy kid!!!

And this fun Hallow's Eve note: No need to change to run back into town for more candy. One can look like the weirdest Yahoo ever! Any get-up will do. I wore my biking garb with every clashing color under the rainbow and the folks just thought it was a costume!

karaoke anyone

JoyFul as back-up singer? No. She's the side-kick dancer while her FarGo buds do the heavy lifting in the singing dept. Too funny, it was!

3 Amigos autumn visit

I miss my friend

Come heck or high water ~ Danielle, Cheri and I were determined to jog and ride.

Sorry to insult the sensitivities of the blog natives with this appalling display of Bad Manners, but thankfully Danielle redeems the photo. What a doll!

Skal's redemption

"Why don't we thank the Lord for wine?" asked my left coast friend. Recalling Psalm 104, we decided to lift our glasses each time we savor the fruit of the vine.

"You cause the grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine
and bread to strengthen man’s heart."

Thank you Father

Quote of the week

God is in my life, and He's not going away.

"When you come to the edge of the light you have known and take the first step into the darkness of uncertainty, you have to believe that one of two things will happen. You will find something solid there to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly."
Paul Overton
