Sweet cousin, LJ

HaPpY Birthday, Linda Jean.
This photo in your darling cotton dress
rings such bells and memory whistles that I'm not altogether sure
if I was present during this photo shoot
or just reminds me of our 1000 times together.

All roads lead to "Hallelujah"

Pearcey Report

http://www.pearceyreport.com/archives/2005/09/post_4.php
(apologetic in support of Christianity as Science Starter)

The rise of modern science cannot be explained apart from the Christian view of nature as good and worthy of study, which led the early scientists to regard their work as obedience to the cultural mandate to "till the garden."
(Genesis 3:23; 1:26-31 Stewards of the earth)
In the biblical worldview, scientific investigation of nature became both a calling and an obligation.
Kepler is, once again, a good example. When he discovered the third law of planetary motion...this was for him "an astounding confirmation of a geometer god worthy of worship. He confessed to being 'carried away by unutterable rapture at the divine spectacle of heavenly harmony'."*

Science used without guile leads to WORSHIP.

Mistaking rhetoric for Reality

Democrats receive the overwhelming bulk of the black vote by rhetoric and by presenting what they have done as the big reason that blacks have advanced. So long as most blacks and whites alike mistake rhetoric for reality, this political game can go on.  Thomas Sowell

Books for my
grandson(s)
Franz Joseph Haydn after years of near starvation, was appointed leader of the orchestra for a wealthy nobleman in 1759.  Thus, Haydn finally had time to devote to composing.  Some complained that his religious music was too cheerful and lacked the solemnity which marked other sacred music.  "I cannot help it," said Haydn; "God has given me a cheerful heart, and He will surely pardon me if I worship Him cheerfully."

Before beginning any composition, Franz Haydn knelt in prayer and asked God to help him in the task.

Small wonder Haydn's masterpieces hold worldwide preeminence.  (taken from "BOYS OF GRIT who changed the world")

Joy's new wheels

Apparently the templet model for the Nissan Cube
was a bulldog with sunglasses.
Nathaniel noted that "even our car looks like a pug."

With God's speed, Run my MidBorn

They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings as eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

God is here.  God is near.

True doctrine

It comes to me that it is not the embrace of "right beliefs" that animates.  It is, rather, the desire to live a Right Life.  That, of course, happens when one sits at the feet of the right Teacher.  Jesus the master teacher.

Scientists Behaving Badly

Scientists Behaving Badly  (click for article)

I'd be surprised if this data shows up anytime soon in the national rags that pretend to be 'objective.' Maybe on page 24, bottom fold.

Truth is always the Cornerstone on which mankind is either healed or broken.

Starving artists

Starving Artists:  That's Elissa's perfect title!  They aren't for sale.  Too priceless.  Although Morgan says the "abstracts are worth more" and should go for about 50 bucks a crack.  I just wait for my birthday to roll around and then I get one.

Deadwood bracelet

Dear Owen ~ Thank you for thinking of me during your Deadwood family vacation.  The bracelet is lovely.
I'll miss you next year, that's for darn sure!
Mrs. M

While in Deadwood, Owen asked his Dad,
"Can I get two gifts, Dad?
One for my teacher?"
"Which teacher?"  inquired the dad.
"Mrs. M, of course."
Thanx Buddy!

Oregon Art Beat

Apparently Portland is a veritable art mecca.  I'd be right at home on Northeast Portland's Alberta Street.  That's where you can hear the tight 3-part harmonies of The Stolen Sweets.  Their reworks of 1930's Boswell Sisters jazz is featured in the video below.  Great stuff
