When the Y in the road presents itself, which way do you go? Why that Y? Assuming that all decisions are informed by ideas, What idea grid is used to decide on Y left or Y right?
These ubiquitous questions tick tick through my brain like Big Ben.
Here’s what I’m learning.
Decision grid 1: Emotion, feelings. If it feels right, go with it.
Decision grid 2: Oppressed vs oppressor. If there is perceived oppression toward an individual or group, the default response is to pull for the underdog. Which, come to think of it, feeling for the oppressed might be emotionally driven like grid 1.
Decision grid 3: The Law of God. Immutable. Knowable. Objective. Absolute.
Next time you meet a Y in the road, think: What motivates my decisions? Emotion, relief for the oppressed, Natural Law.
