Scripture teaches that the mother and child union is a picture of God's nurturing compassion for His children and our recipricol devotion to our Father. Dallas Willard calls it the "Circle of Dependency."
The child needs the mother's nurturing care to thrive and the mother is beautifully content in her child's devotion and vital health. There is a mutual dependency that one has for the other in the early months and years of life. Blessed is the child who has such a mother. Blessed is the mother who rests in her child's cherished devotion. Very beautiful illustration of our dependency upon our Father for nourishment, health, peace and prosperity.
