savor the Savior

My friend and I exchange Weekly Savors. "I know you'll read that as savior!" she once wrote when sharing the thing that swept her away. My friend's right; all things savored turn me to the Savior.

And this season especially. If one word could connote the Dear Lord Jesus, it might be Relaxed. Now that's not a word that describes the typical American Yuletide. Our holidays feel more like holidaze. But Jesus walked the earth in quiet repose. Who do you know that could sleep through a raging storm in a fishing boat?

I've wondered all week why Jesus was so relaxed and how I could walk the same? It was His time spent with His Father. Jesus knew that "our universe is a perfectly safe place for us to be." And He knew this because of His constant interactive relationship with His Father. "Every visible thing and event is glorious with God's presence."* Jesus knew this. And I'm learning it. Relax...savor the Savior.

"Oh come let us adore Him. And find rest for our souls."
